QuayQuip Australia keeps Sydney City moving safely at Barangaroo

QuayQuip successfully supplied all the fender and mooring equipment for Sydney’s largest and most recent maritime infrastructure commuter hub; Barangaroo.

Barangaroo is a renowned urban renewal project on the western waterfront of Sydney’s CBD area, managed by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority on behalf of the NSW Government.

QuayQuip was awarded the project of supplying equipment for the floating facility, designed by Aurecon. The Project included the supply of Heavy Duty Ferry Crash Fenders for end-on-impact. The fenders consist of 6 reverse mounted QCN 1400 Jointed Fender systems, designed to absorb 1020 kN of energy in the event of out of control ferry impact. The project also included the Pontoon Pile Guides Arch Fenders for normal ferry side berthing and End Pontoon Fenders for abnormal impact.

Prior to the contract, QuayQuip assisted several contractors at the bidding stage for assistance in Engineering & Construction. This was to create a cost-efficient Dolphin design, which would meet the set requirements for their respective bids.

Post contract, QuayQuip diligently worked through the specifications to amend Welding Engineering technical faults with industry offered materials that had filtered into the Principals Fender Specifications. This was to ensure the Principal had a product that was 100% compliant with Design Codes and Insurance requirements.

The project is completed and is now part of Sydney’s iconic passenger waterway infrastructure.

Another great project by QuayQuip!
